PROJECT COMPLETION

2019

The Transmission Gully project involves constructing a 27-km four-lane (two in each direction) motorway from Mackays to Linden. The project is part of the Wellington Northern Corridor and is a vital cog in the region’s transport system.

It is designed to provide a critical and resilient lifeline to Wellington in the event of an earthquake or other major disruption. The road design focuses on driver safety and construction of a highway more resilient to seismic activity or damaging weather.

Complete Reinforcing has been tasked with supplying 3500 tonnes of reinforcing for 24 bridges and culverts along 27-kms of the new highway including supply of pile cages. Prefabricated pile cages up to 30m in length (in one piece) are currently being supplied on a just in time process to suit site programme and reduce congestion on site. Additionally the Complete Reinforcing BIM team are providing support to the client’s project team, with 3D modelling (including VR output), shop drawings, clash detection, methodology and QA processes for various individual components and structures.
